What Is a Certificate of Compliance?

A Certificate of Compliance (CoC) is a legal document issued by a registered inspector confirming that an installation on your property meets the relevant South African safety standard. When you sell or transfer a property in Cape Town, the law requires valid certificates before the transfer can register at the Deeds Office — and landlords must hold valid electrical and gas CoCs before tenants move in.

Whether you need a single electrical CoC near you or the full bundle for a sale, we provide DoEL-registered, standards-driven inspections with your certificate emailed within 24 hours of passing.
